The ClickSeal lids provide a biocontainment sealing option that offers glove-friendly, one-handed open/close capability. These lids are ergonomically designed to accommodate both right and left-handed operations, helping ensure easy operation for all laboratory users. By eliminating the need for multi-turn screw caps and complicated high-pressure clips, the ClickSeal lids simplify the sealing process.
To enhance safety and security, the ClickSeal lids feature audible and visual closure cues. These cues provide clear indications when the lids are properly closed, minimizing the risk of accidental exposure or contamination.
The ClickSeal lids are certified and provide a secure and quick solution to help ensure the safe containment of pathogens. In the event of tube breakage, tube leakage, external tube contamination, or over-fill contamination within tube and cap threads, the ClickSeal lids help prevent the release of pathogens when used correctly.
These lids are available for use with multiple swing-out and fixed angle rotors, providing versatility and compatibility with various centrifuge setups.
It is important to note that the ClickSeal lids have obtained biocontainment certification from reputable organizations such as the National Institute for Health Protection in Porton Down, UK, or TÜV NORD CERT GmbH in Germany. This certification validates their effectiveness in containing pathogens and meeting stringent safety standards.

Auto-ID Instant Rotor Identification is an advanced feature that allows for the immediate identification of a rotor as soon as it is placed in the centrifuge chamber. This innovative technology automatically loads the specific rotor's specifications into the centrifuge parameters, eliminating the need to manually search for and set rotor codes.
The primary benefit of Auto-ID is the significant reduction in run setup time. By eliminating the manual input of rotor codes, this feature streamlines the process and helps save valuable time in the laboratory, allowing for increased productivity and efficiency. Moreover, Auto-ID enhances safety measures by minimizing the risk of over-speed and reducing the occurrence of error messages. With the rotor parameters automatically loaded, the centrifuge operates with optimal settings, helping ensure the safety of both the centrifuge itself and the samples being processed. This feature contributes to improved overall safety for operators as well.
Utilizing Auto-ID is straightforward. Once the rotor is placed in the centrifuge chamber, the system immediately detects it and loads the corresponding parameters. Users simply need to confirm the settings and initiate the run, resulting in a seamless and hassle-free operation.
Auto-ID Instant Rotor Identification helps simplify the centrifuge workflow by providing quick and accurate rotor identification, optimizing efficiency, and enhancing safety in the laboratory setting.
Reduced energy consumption—Advanced Thermo Scientific features like Green Mode Technology, Smart Vacuum Technology, Eco-Spin Windshielded Rotors, and Thermo Scientific Fiberlite Carbon Fiber Rotors provide energy savings of up to 74% compared to older centrifuge models.
Efficient cooling systems—To manage energy and environmental impact in high-use environments, certain centrifuge models are designed to shut off the automatic cooling function when the instrument is off or when the door opens, thus helping reduce power consumption and save energy on refrigeration.
Less waste—All excess scrap material created during manufacturing is reused, and the lightweight Fiberlite carbon fiber rotors are corrosion resistant with a lifespan up to 300% longer than comparable metal rotors.
RoHS and WEEE compliant—Thermo Scientific centrifuges are fully compliant with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive, which promotes the reduced use of hazardous substances such as lead, cadmium, mercury, chromium6+, PBB, and PBDE. WEEE compliance helps ensure that our centrifuges utilize environmentally sound manufacturing practices.
Review the Green Fact Sheets:
With each updated model, we prioritize ergonomic improvements to help ensure that our centrifuges seamlessly integrate into the actual work environment. Our focus on enhancing loading and unloading processes leads to safer use and improved accessibility. We achieve this through the implementation of motorized gas springs, Auto-Lock rotor technology, and automatic door opening and closing technologies.
We understand the importance of user interface visibility and reach, as well as the need for one-handed and glove-friendly operation. Our centrifuges are designed with these considerations in mind, providing a user-friendly experience that promotes efficiency and ease of use.
To further prioritize safety, we have made efforts to reduce rotor weight and incorporate enhanced safety features. Our carbon fiber rotors are lightweight and easy to handle, helping ensure user comfort and minimizing the risk of accidents. Additionally, our Thermo Scientific SmartSpin imbalance detection system automatically detects imbalances to enable stable runs, while the Thermo Scientific Accumulated Centrifugal Effect (ACE) function adjusts run time to accommodate variations in acceleration.
For our large capacity centrifuges, we offer Auto-Door opening technology, which allows the centrifuge door to be released from the front to the back without the operator having to touch it. This feature promotes convenience and prevents potential contamination. Furthermore, our Auto-Lid opening mechanism instantly releases rotor lids, allowing them to be stored inside the centrifuge door. This not only saves space but also enhances efficiency in the laboratory.
We continuously strive to improve the ergonomic design and safety features of our centrifuges, ensuring that they meet the specific needs of the work environment
