Life Technologies offers a broad portfolio of products and technologies for immunodetection, including antibodies, secondary detection reagents, and immunoassay kits. These tools and their associated intellectual property are available for your use in developing and offering products and services for sale. Our reagents are employed by our commercial-use customers in research and diagnostic services and are resold by those companies in kits with multiple formats including ELISAs, bead-based immunoassays, western blots, immunoprecipitation, automated imaging, immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry, automated immunoassay instruments, lateral flow immunoassays, and flow cytometry.

Primary Antibodies
Life Technologies has a diverse collection of thousands of highly specific RUO, ASR, and IVD primary antibodies to targets for use in clinical and research settings. These antibodies are validated using a combination of tests, including western blotting, immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry, ELISAs, and flow cytometry, depending on the target application.

Our portfolio includes antibodies directed against CD markers, cancer markers, immunology targets, stem cell markers, cell signaling targets, cytokines and chemokines, cell organelles and cell structure targets, cell junctions, and adhesion molecules, as well as other key targets involved in a variety of cellular processes.

Phosphospecific Antibodies
Life Technologies offers more than 300 phosphorylation site–specific antibodies (phosphospecific antibodies) and is actively expanding this product line to enable analysis of key targets in normal and disease states including cardiovascular disease, cancer, inflammation, neurodegenerative diseases, and diabetes. These new tools are providing critical insight into the investigation of complex signal transduction events including unraveling the intricacies of drug intervention in disease. These antibodies are available for use in your commercial drug discovery research services, your human diagnostics service offering, or for inclusion in a kit or other product for resale.

Flow Cytometry Antibodies
Life Technologies has a wide selection of antibodies that are validated for flow cytometry, including CD markers, antibodies for cancer, immunology, stem cell studies, cell signaling, cytokines, and chemokines, as well as for other key targets involved in a variety of cellular processes, plus much more. Secondary Antibodies
Our Alexa Fluor® secondary antibody conjugates and streptavidin conjugates set the standard for detection in the life science industry.  Life Technologies’ anti-GFP antibody is the most commonly used secondary detection reagent for fluorescent proteins in fixed samples. We offer anti-dye, anti-hapten, and anti-tag antibodies that permit multicolor signal amplification in essentially any immunoassay format. Our Alexa Fluor® Zenon® kits permit you to combine multiple primary antibodies of the same species in the same sample, without having to prepare conjugates. Up to seven colors of Zenon® reagents have been used at the same time to detect samples in pathology assays and flow cytometry. 

Enzyme Substrates
Life Technologies provides a complete selection of secondary detection reagents for use in signal amplification. Build your immunoassay kit or service using Tropix® chemiluminescence substrates, Amplex® Red fluorogenic horseradish peroxidase substrates, or standard colorimetric substrates.

Another very powerful enzymatic secondary detection technology is based on Tyramide Signal Amplification (TSA®). TSA® (PerkinElmer) is an enzyme-mediated detection method that utilizes the catalytic activity of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) to generate high-density labeling of a target protein or nucleic acid sequence in situ. We can custom-formulate these reagents and specially package them for direct inclusion in your kits or for use in your service.

We offer 24 different fluorescent labels for primary antibodies, secondary antibodies, anti-dye and anti-hapten antibodies, and streptavidin, including proprietary labels such as Alexa Fluor®, Texas Red®-X, and Pacific Blue™ dyes, which span the visible light spectrum from deep blue to near-infrared emission, generic fluorophores such as fluorescein and tetramethylrhodamine, R-phycoerythrin (RPE), allophycocyanin (APC), and PerCP. We also offer conjugates of biotin, DNP, digoxigenin, dansyl, and other haptens. We have more than 30 years experience in preparing custom antibody conjugates to match your instrument and optical specifications, which are optimized to meet your application-specific assay needs. We can also couple antibodies to gold particles, polystyrene microspheres and nanospheres, and magnetic particles for you.

ELISA, phosphoELISA™, and Luminex® Assay Kits

TC-FlAsH™ Expression Analysis Detection Kits

TC-FlAsH™ technology allows you or your customers to add a small tetracysteine tag to target proteins, which can then be isolated or detected rapidly in living cells, in vitro in solution, and in gels.  This method is complementary to immunodetection methods, and does not require the use of an antibody. Licenses are available for use of the technology in contract research, and for inclusion of tetracysteine-labeled proteins in kits for resale, along with your choice of detection or isolation reagents.

Western Blot Detection Kits

The future of western blots has never been brighter with tools available from Life Technologies. Alkaline phosphatase (AP) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP) are two of the most popular reporter enzymes currently used in western blot detection.
