Western blot using Rocklands affinity purified anti-FANCA antibody shows detection of a band at ~133 kDa (arrowhead) corres-ponding to FANCA in HeLa whole cell lysates. The identity of the lower molecular weight bands is unknown but may represent breakdown products. Approximately 35 µg of lysate was separated by 4-20% Tris Glycine SDS-PAGE. Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20° C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This affinity-purified antibody is directed against human FANCA protein. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross reactivity with FANCA protein from human and chimpanzee based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Reactivity against homologues from other sources is not known.
Target Information
This gene is a member of the synaptotagmin gene family and encodes a protein similar to other family members that are known calcium sensors and mediate calcium-dependent regulation of membrane trafficking in synaptic transmission. The encoded protein is also a substrate for ubiquitin-E3-ligase parkin. The gene has previously been referred to as synaptotagmin XII but has been renamed synaptotagmin XI to be consistent with mouse and rat official nomenclature.
