          Parkin Antibody (702785RHRP) in WB

Western blot analysis was performed on Whole cell extracts (60 µg lysate) of PC-12 (Lane 1), tissue extracts of Mouse Brain (Lane 2), Mouse Lung (Lane 3), Rat Lung (Lane 4) and Rat Brain (Lane 5). The blots were probed with Parkin Recombinant Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody, HRP (Product # 702785RHRP, 1:1,000). A 50 kDa band corresponding to Parkin was observed in PC-12 cell line and tissues tested. Known quantity of protein samples were electrophoresed using Novex®NuPAGE®4-12% Bis-Tris gel (Product # NP0322BOX), XCell SureLock™ Electrophoresis... Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. Recombinant antibodies are produced using specific genes that code for the desired antibodies. These genes are cloned into an expression vector and expressed in vitro. The advantages of recombinant antibodies include: better specificity, lot-to-lot consistency, and broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to a larger rabbit immune repertoire.

It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.

          Target Information

The precise function of Parkin gene is unknown; however, the encoded protein is a component of a multiprotein E3 ubiquitin ligase complex that mediates the targeting of substrate proteins for proteasomal degradation. Mutations in this gene are known to cause Parkinson disease and autosomal recessive juvenile Parkinson disease. Alternative splicing of this gene produces multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. Additional splice variants of this gene have been described but currently lack transcript support.
