Western Blot analysis of AOX1A using a AOX1A Polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-98464). Positive WB detected in: Arabidopsis thaliana leaf tissue, Solanum lycopersicum leaf tissue, Glycine max leaf tissue, Solanum tuberosum leaf tissue. All lanes: AOX1A antibody at 1:1500. A secondary Goat polyclonal antibody to rabbit IgG was applied at a 1:50,000 dilution. Observed band size: 40 kDa.

Catalyzes the cyanide-resistant oxidation of ubiquinol and the reduction of molecular oxygen to water, but does not translocate protons and consequently is not linked to oxidative phosphorylation. Increases respiration when the cytochrome respiratory pathway is restricted, or in response to low temperatures.
