PA5-29882 targets BACE2 in IF and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples.
The PA5-29882 immunogen is recombinant fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 319 and 518 of Human BACE2.
Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
BACE2 or Beta Secretase 2 is responsible for the proteolytic processing of the amyloid precursor protein (APP). BACE2 cleaves APP between residues 690 and 691. This cleavage leads to the generation and extracellular release of beta-cleaved soluble APP. BACE2 is also know to cleave APP between residues 671 and 672. Accumulation of APP is a signature of Alzheimer disease and frequent complication of adult Down syndrome patients.
