BECLIN1 Antibody (600-401-Z53) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemistry of Beclin-1 antibody. Cell Type: A431 cells. Fixation: formalin fixed paraffin embedded. Antigen retrieval: not required. Primary antibody: Beclin-1 antibody at 1 µg/mL for 1 hr at RT. Secondary antibody: Peroxidase rabbit secondary antibody at 1:10,000 for 45 min at RT. Localization: Beclin-1 is located in the cytoplasm, endoplasmic reticulum, endosome, golgi apparatus, cell membrane, and mitochondrion. Staining: Beclin-1 is stained brown with hematoxylin purple counterstain.

Target Information
Beclin 1 plays a central role in autophagy. It acts as a core subunit of the PI3K complex that mediates formation of phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate. Different PI3K complex forms are believed to play a role in multiple membrane trafficking pathways - PI3KC3-C1 is involved in the initation of autophagosomes and PI3KC3-C2 is involved in the maturation of autophagosomes and endocytosis. Beclin 1 also plays a role in antiviral host defense.
