Annexin V Antibody (BMS147) in WB
Western blot was performed using Annexin V Monoclonal Antibody (VAA-33), eBioscience™ (Product # BMS147) and a 35 kDa band corresponding to Anxa5 was observed and relative expression was seen in RD, BeWo and U-87 MG which are positive for Annexin V when compared to other cell lines. Description: BMS147 specifically recognizes Annexin V (VAC- alpha ). BMS147 is suitable for ELISA application, Western blot analysis and is suitable as primary antibody for staining in FACS analysis.
BMS147FI can be used for direct staining of cells.
BMS147BT can be used in a two-step procedure using the biotin-(strept-)avidin system. For intracellular stainings the use of BMS147FI is recommended.
Applications Tested: ELISA, Flow Cytometry (Intracellular Staining), Western Blotting.
Purity: >95%.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid binding proteins some of which have been implicated in membrane-related events along exocytotic and endocytotic pathways. Annexin 5 is a phospholipase A2 and protein kinase C inhibitory protein with calcium channel activity and a potential role in cellular signal transduction, inflammation, growth and differentiation. Annexin 5 has also been described as placental anticoagulant protein I, vascular anticoagulant-alpha, endonexin II, lipocortin V, placental protein 4 and anchorin CII. The gene spans 29 kb containing 13 exons, and encodes a single transcript of approximately 1.6 kb and a protein product with a molecular weight of about 35 kDa.
