Target Information
Calreticulin 3 (CALR3) is a gene located on chromosome 19p13.11, encoding a member of the calreticulin family of calcium-binding chaperones. Unlike the more ubiquitously expressed calreticulin (CALR), CALR3 is specifically expressed in the testes and plays a crucial role in spermatogenesis. CALR3 is involved in the quality control of proteins within the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and assists in the folding and assembly of newly synthesized glycoproteins.
