In Western blot a band is seen at ~18 kDa representing the core form of Cripto1, and at ~36 kDa reporesenting the glycosylated/ post-translationally modified form.
Suggested positive control: MDA-MB231 (human breast cancer) lysates.
The cripto gene is expressed both in ES cells and during the early phases of embryo development, while, in the adult, it is reactivated in a wide range of epithelial cancers.
