CtBP2 Antibody in Immunocytochemistry (ICC/IF) — Immunocytochemistry-Immunofluorescence analysis of CtBP2 was performed in U2OS cells using CtBP2 Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-95843).

CtBP2 Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — Western blot was performed using Anti-CtBP2 Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-95843) and 48-50 kDa bands corresponding to CTBP2 was observed across cell lines and tissues tested. Nuclear enriched extracts (30 µg lysate) of NIH:OVCAR-3 (Lane 1), PC-3 (Lane 2), LNCaP (Lane 3), HeLa (Lane 4), SH-SY5Y (Lane 5), Raji (Lane 6), Daudi (Lane 7), Hep G2 (Lane 8), Mouse Ovary (Lane 9), Mouse Retina (Lane 10), Mouse Liver (Lane 11) were electrophoresed using NuPAGE™ 4-12% Bis-Tris Protein Gel (Product # NP0322BOX). Resolved proteins were then transferred onto a nitrocellulose membrane (Product # IB23001) by iBlot® 2 Dry Blotting System (Product # IB21001). The blot was probed with the primary antibody (1:1000) and detected by chemiluminescence with Goat anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) Superclonal™ Recombinant Secondary Antibody, HRP (Product # A27036,1:4000) using the iBright™ FL1500 Imaging System (Product # A44115). Chemiluminescentdetection was performed using Novex® ECL Chemiluminescent Substrate Reagent Kit (Product # WP20005).

CtBP2 Antibody — Antibody specificity was demonstrated by detection of differential basal expression of the target across NIH:OVCAR-3, PC-3, LNCaP, HeLa, SH-SY5Y, Raji, Daudi, Hep G2, Mouse Ovary, Mouse Retina, Mouse Liver owing to their inherent genetic constitution. Relative expression of CTBP2 was observed in NIH:OVCAR-3, PC-3, LNCaP, HeLa, SH-SY5Y as compared to Raji, Daudi, Hep G2, and in Mouse Ovary, Mouse Retina as compared to Mouse Liver using Anti-CtBP2 Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-95843) in Western Blot. {RE}

Target Information

This gene produces alternative transcripts encoding two distinct proteins. One protein is a transcriptional repressor, while the other isoform is a major component of specialized synapses known as synaptic ribbons. Both proteins contain a NAD+ binding domain similar to NAD+-dependent 2-hydroxyacid dehydrogenases. A portion of the 3' untranslated region was used to map this gene to chromosome 21q21. 3; however, it was noted that similar loci elsewhere in the genome are likely. Blast analysis shows that this gene is present on chromosome 10.
