DCTN2 Antibody in Immunohistochemistry (IHC) — **Detection of human DCTN2 by immunohistochemistry.** *Sample:* FFPE section of human breast carcinoma. *Antibody:* Affinity purified rabbit anti- DCTN2 (Cat. No. A303-489A Lot1) used at a dilution of 1:200 (1µg/ml). *Detection:* DAB. *Counterstain:* Hematoxylin (blue).

DCTN2 Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — **Detection of human DCTN2 by western blot and immunoprecipitation.** *Samples:* Whole cell lysate from Jurkat (15 and 50 µg for WB; 1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded), 293T (T; 50 µg) and HeLa (H; 50 µg) cells. *Antibodies:* Affinity purified rabbit anti-DCTN2 antibody A303-489A used for WB at 0.04 µg/ml (A) and 1 µg/ml (B) and used for IP at 6 µg/mg lysate. DCTN2 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-DCTN2 antibody A303-488A, which recognizes an upstream epitope. *Detection:* Chemiluminescence with exposure times of 3 minutes (A) and 3 seconds (B).

Target Information

This gene encodes a 50-kD subunit of dynactin, a macromolecular complex consisting of 10-11 subunits ranging in size from 22 to 150 kDa. Dynactin binds to both microtubules and cytoplasmic dynein. It is involved in a diverse array of cellular functions, including ER-to-Golgi transport, the centripetal movement of lysosomes and endosomes, spindle formation, chromosome movement, nuclear positioning, and axonogenesis. This subunit is present in 4-5 copies per dynactin molecule. It contains three short alpha-helical coiled-coil domains that may mediate association with self or other dynactin subunits. It may interact directly with the largest subunit (p150) of dynactin and may affix p150 in place.
