RME-8 (DNAJC13) is involved in membrane trafficking through early endosomes. It is also involved in the regulation of endosomal membrane tubulation and regulates the dynamics of SNX1 on the endosomal membrane. This regulation is via association with WASHC2 and may link the WASH complex to the retromer SNX-BAR subcomplex. RME-8 may be involved in the disease pathogenesis of Parkinson disease (PARK).
