AA Sequence of recombinant protein: discontinued.
Preparation: Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human EMAP-II. Anti-Human EMAP-II-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human EMAP-II matrix.
Sandwich ELISA: To detect Human EMAP-II by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5-2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human EMAP-II (500-P172GBt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human EMAP-II.
Western Blot: To detect Human EMAP-II by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1- 0.2 µg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for Recombinant Human EMAP-II is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that is specifically induced by apoptosis, and it is involved in the control of angiogenesis, inflammation, and wound healing. The release of this cytokine renders the tumor-associated vasculature sensitive to tumor necrosis factor. The precursor protein is identical to the p43 subunit, which is associated with the multi-tRNA synthetase complex, and it modulates aminoacylation activity of tRNA synthetase in normal cells. This protein is also involved in the stimulation of inflammatory responses after proteolytic cleavage in tumor cells. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. A pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 20.
