          FUT11 Antibody (PA5-48094) in ICC/IF

Immunocytochemistry analysis of FUT11 was detected in immersion fixed NTera-2 human testicular embryonic carcinoma cell line. The cells were labeled with FUT11 Sheep Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-48094) using a dilution of 10 µg/mL for 3 hours at room temperature. Cells were stained using the NorthernLights™ 557-conjugated Anti-Sheep IgG Secondary Antibody (red, upper panel) counterstained with DAPI (blue, lower panel). Specific staining was localized to cytoplasm. {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. View more

          Target Information

The FUT11 gene encodes for fructosyltransferase 11, an enzyme that is part of the glycosyltransferase family involved in the modification of glycoproteins and glycolipids by catalyzing the addition of fucose moieties. Enzymes like FUT11 play a critical role in the biosynthesis of Lewis antigen structures, significantly contributing to cell-cell adhesion, signal transduction, and immune recognition. Fucosylation, the process mediated by fructosyltransferases, is crucial for various biological functions, including the regulation of leukocyte trafficking and selectin binding, emphasizing its importance in immune responses and inflammation. While FUT11 is less characterized compared to other fucosyltransferases, altered expression patterns and functional abnormalities in these enzymes are linked to pathological conditions, such as cancer and inflammatory diseases, where changes in glycosylation can affect tumor progression, metastasis, and immune evasion. Ongoing research into FUT11 aims to elucidate its specific role in cellular processes and explore potential therapeutic applications by targeting fucosylation pathways to modify disease progression.
