Western blot analysis of GLUT3 in various lysates. Samples were incubated with GLUT3 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-72331) using a dilution of 1:2,000 followed by Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG, (H+L), Peroxidase conjugated at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 20 µg per lane. Lane 1: C6 whole cell lysate; Lane 2: SH-SY5Y whole cell lysate; Lane 3: human brain lysate; Lane 4: mouse brain lysate. Predicted band size: 54 kDa. Blocking/Dilution buffer: 5% NFDM/TBST.

Target Information
Glucose is fundamental to the metabolism of mammalian cells. Several glucose transporter protein (Glut) isoforms have been identified and shown to function in response to insulin and IGF1 induced signaling. GLUT3 is detectable in a few normal cell type spermatids in testis with active spermatogenesis, placental trophoblast membranes, and neurons in brain. GLUT3 staining is also detectable in human cancers including those of the ovary, lung, and testis.
