PA1-21046 detects GSK3 alpha/beta in Human, Mouse, Rat and Non-human primate samples.
PA1-21046 has been successfully used in Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) and Western blot procedures. Staining of formalin fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10 mM citrate vuffer, pH 6.0 for 10 minutes followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes.
PA1-21046 immunogen corresponds to synthetic peptide (Human) (C-terminal).
GSK3 (Glycogen Synthase Kinase-3 differs from most serine/threonine kinase) in that it is activated in the absence of the action of signaling pathways. Two isoforms exist, GSK-3a and GSK-3fl. The function of GSK-3 is to phosphorytae glycogen synthase and thereby inactivate it. Insulin action stimulates the Pl 3-kinase pathway, resulting in Akt activation, which phosphorylates and inactivates GSK-3.
