HDAC6 Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — Detection of human HDAC6 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-HDAC6 antibody A301-342A (lot A301-342A-2) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. HDAC6 was also immunoprecipitated by a previous lot of this antibody A301-342A-1. For blotting immunoprecipitated HDAC6, A301-342A was used at 1 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

HDAC6 Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — Detection of mouse HDAC6 by western blot. Samples: Whole cell lysate (50 µg) from TCMK-1 and NIH3T3 cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibody: Affinity purified rabbit anti-HDAC6 antibody A301-342A (lot A301-342A-2) used for WB at 0.1 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.

Target Information

Responsible for the deacetylation of lysine residues on the N-terminal part of the core histones (H2A, H2B, H3 and H4). Histone deacetylation gives a tag for epigenetic repression and plays an important role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression and developmental events. Histone deacetylases act via the formation of large multiprotein complexes. Plays a central role in microtubule-dependent cell motility via deacetylation of tubulin.
