Western blot of HDAC6 in whole extract of HEK-293T cells overexpressing human HDAC6. Samples were separated on SDS-PAGE and probed using a HDAC6 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA1-25455) at a dilution of 1:1000 (lane 1) and 1:1000 antibody + HDAC6 immunizing peptide) followed by detection using a Goat anti-Rabbit IgG-Peroxidase and chemiluminescent substrate.

PA1-25455 detects HDAC6 from human and mouse samples.
PA1-25455 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects a 134 kDa band representing HDAC6, as well as an additional non-specific band at ~50 kDa.
The PA1-25455 immunogen is a synthetic peptide, conjugated to KLH, corresponding to residues K(1199) N I A H Q N K F G E D M P H(1213) of human HDAC6.
Histones play a critical role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression, and developmental events. Histone acetylation/deacetylation alters chromosome structure and affects transcription factor access to DNA. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to class II of the histone deacetylase/acuc/apha family. It contains an internal duplication of two catalytic domains which appear to function independently of each other. This protein possesses histone deacetylase activity and represses transcription.
