HSPB8 Antibody (PA5-77836) in ICC/IF
Immunofluorescent analysis of HSPB8 in human HaCaT cells. Sample was fixed with 100% cold methanol (10 minutes at -20°C), incubated with HSPB8 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-77789) using a dilution of 1:100 (12 hours at 4°C), and followed by FITC Goat Anti-Rabbit secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:50 (1-2 hours at RT). Magnification: 60x.

Immunohistochemistry samples may be prepared using Bouin's Fixative solution.
A 1:1,000 dilution of PA5-77836 was sufficient for detection of HSP22 in 10 µg of rat tissue lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-rabbit IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.|Detects approximately 22kDa. Does not cross-react with HSP27 or alpha-crystallin.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the superfamily of small heat-shock proteins containing a conservative alpha-crystallin domain at the C-terminal part of the molecule. The expression of this gene in induced by estrogen in estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer cells, and this protein also functions as a chaperone in association with Bag3, a stimulator of macroautophagy. Thus, this gene appears to be involved in regulation of cell proliferation, apoptosis, and carcinogenesis, and mutations in this gene have been associated with different neuromuscular diseases, including Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.
