INA Antibody (A305-441A) in IP
Detection of human INA by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from 293T cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-INA antibody (Product # A305-441A) (lot 1) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. INA was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-INA antibody A305-431A. For blotting immunoprecipitated INA, A305-441A was used at 0.4 µg/mL. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 10 seconds.

Target Information
alpha-Internexin is a Class IV intermediate filament subunit expressed very early in neuronal development. It is related to but distinct from the better known neurofilament triplet proteins, NF-L, NF-M and NF-H, having similar protein sequence motifs and a similar intron organization. Many classes of mature neurons contain a-internexin in addition to NF-L, NF-M and NF-H. In some mature neurons a-internexin is the only neurofilament subunit expressed. Antibodies to internexin are therefore unique probes to study and classify neuronal types and follow their processes in sections and in tissue culture. In addition the very early developmental expression of a-internexin means its presence is an early and convenient diagnostic feature of neuronal progenitors cells and other cell committed to the neuronal lineage. The use of antibodies to this protein in the study of brain tumors has not been examined to date, but is likely to be of interest.
