PA1-24478 detects Interferon regulatory factor 8 (IRF8) in human samples.
PA1-24478 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry (paraffin) and Western Blot procedures. By Western blot, PA1-24478 is specific for the ~48 kDa Interferon regulatory factor 8 (IRF8) protein.
The PA1-24478 immunogen corresponds to a synthetic peptide corresponding to a region of human IRF8.
Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
IRF8 (interferon regulatory factor 8) is a transcriptional activator or repressor. It specifically binds to the upstream regulatory region of type I IFN and IFN-inducible MHC class I genes. IRF8 plays a negative regulatory role in cells of the immune system. It is involved in CD8+ dendritic cell differentiation by forming a complex with the BATF-JUNB heterodimer in immune cells. This leads to recognition of AICE sequence, an immune-specific regulatory element, followed by cooperative binding of BATF and IRF8 and activation of the genes. Mutations in the gene can result in immunodeficiencey 32A and 32B.
