Lyophilized antibody can be stored at -20°C for up to 3 years. Re-constituted antibody can be stored at 4°C for several days to weeks. Once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please, remember to spin tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from lyophilized material adhering to the cap or sides of the tubes.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Manihot esculenta
Linamarase is a cyanogenic beta-glucosidase encoded in cyanogenic plants (classically at the Li locus in white clover) and is localized predominantly outside the cytoplasm in the apoplast/cell wall, consistent with its role in initiating cyanogenesis only after tissue disruption brings enzyme and substrate into contact. It is synthesized as a secreted glycoprotein precursor containing an N-terminal signal peptide and multiple N-linked glycosylation sites, and the mature enzyme accumulates as an oligomeric protein composed of similar-sized subunits of roughly 60-63 kDa, with native species frequently observed as dimers/oligomers and, in cassava, multiple acidic isozymic forms. Functionally, linamarase catalyzes hydrolysis of the cyanogenic glucosides linamarin (and the related lotaustralin), releasing glucose and producing an unstable cyanohydrin that can decompose to hydrogen cyanide; this compartmentalized "enzyme in apoplast, substrate in cells" arrangement underpins a rapid, damage-activated chemical defense against herbivory and pathogens.
