          Blimp-1 Antibody (MA1-16874) in ICC/IF

Immunocytochemistry analysis of Blimp-1 in A431 cells. Samples were incubated with Blimp-1 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA1-16874) using a dilution of 10 µg/mL overnight at 4°C followed by anti-mouse IgG Dylight 488 (Green) at a dilution of 1:500. Cells were fixed for 10 minutes using 10% formalin and then permeabilized for 5 minutes using 1X PBS + 0.5% Triton-X100. Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (Blue). Cells were imaged using a 40X objective. {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. View more

          Product Specific Information

In Western Blot, this antibody recognizes a band at ~98 kDa and may recognize one at ~80 kDa (the beta form).

Antigen retrieval is recommended (EDTA buffer, microwave) prior to IHC on paraffin tissues.

This antibody does not immunoprecipitate. For IHC and ICC/IF a dilution of 1:200 is recommended with tyramide amplification; this antibody demonstrates nuclear staining.

Suggested positive control: antigen standard for PRDM1 (transient overexpression lysate), P3X (murine plasmocytoma) cell lysates.

          Target Information

Blimp-1 (B lymphocyte maturation protein-1) is a nuclear protein with five zinc fingers in its carboxy terminus. It is a transcriptional repressor that is both required and sufficient to trigger terminal differentiation of B lymphocytes and monocyte/macrophages. Blimp-1 is expressed in, and may be required for terminally differentiated epithelial cells, retinal neurons and other lineage cells. It has also been implicated in the repression of beta-interferon (IFN-beta) and c-myc gene expression.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
