Immunofluorescent analysis of ERp57 in human HeLa cells (human cervical cancer). Sample was fixed with 4% formaldehyde (15 min at RT), incubated with ERp57 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-27689) using a dilution of 1:100 (1 hour at RT), and followed by Goat Anti-Mouse 488, Phalloidin Texas Red and DAPI secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:200, 1:1000 (60 min at RT) and 1:5000 (5 min at RT). A 1:1,000 dilution of MA5-27689 was sufficient for detection of ERp57 in 15 µg of HeLa by ECL immunoblot analysis using Goat Anti-Mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary Antibody.|Detects approximately 57 kDa protein.
Target Information
This gene encodes a protein of the endoplasmic reticulum that interacts with lectin chaperones calreticulin and calnexin to modulate folding of newly synthesized glycoproteins. The protein was once thought to be a phospholipase; however, it has been demonstrated that the protein actually has protein disulfide isomerase activity. It is thought that complexes of lectins and this protein mediate protein folding by promoting formation of disulfide bonds in their glycoprotein substrates.
