CENPA Antibody (MA5-45300) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence analysis using human colon cancer cells. Fixation involved 4% Formaldehyde for 15 min at RT. Samples were incubated with CENP-A monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-45300) at 1:100 for 60 min at RT, followed by Goat Anti-Mouse ATTO 488 at 1:100 for 60 min at RT. Counterstain used was DAPI (blue) nuclear stain at 1:5,000 for 5 min RT. Localization: Nucleus. Magnification: 60X.

1 µg/mL of MA5-45300 was sufficient for detection of CENPA in 20 µg of U2OS cell lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.|Detects approximately 18kDa. Recognizes Human CENP-A.
Target Information
Centromeres are the differentiated chromosomal domains that specify the mitotic behavior of chromosomes. CENPA encodes a centromere protein which contains a histone H3 related histone fold domain that is required for targeting to the centromere. CENPA is proposed to be a component of a modified nucleosome or nucleosome-like structure in which it replaces 1 or both copies of conventional histone H3 in the (H3-H4)2 tetrameric core of the nucleosome particle.
