Western blot analysis of HeLa Whole Cell Lysate using PA5-19774, MAD2 primary antibody at a dilution of 1 ug/ml (lane 1). PA5-19774 staining of HepG2 Whole Cell Lysate at a dilution of 1 ug/ml (lane 2). Blot treated with a secondary HRP-conjugated Goat polyclonal anti-Rabbit antibody was used at a dilution of 1:3000.

MAD2L1 is a component of the mitotic spindle assembly checkpoint that prevents the onset of anaphase until all chromosomes are properly aligned at the metaphase plate. MAD2L1 is related to the MAD2L2 gene located on chromosome 1. A MAD2 pseudogene has been mapped to chromosome 14.
