Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin embedded Mouse testis; Antigen retrieval by boiling in sodium citrate buffer (pH6.0) for 15min; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% hydrogen peroxide for 20 minutes; Blocking buffer (normal goat serum) at 37°C for 30min; Antibody incubation with MEK5 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-4124R) at 1:200 overnight at 4°C, DAB staining.

Target Information
MAP2K5 (MEK5) serine/threonine kinase (mitogen-activated protein kinase 5) or MEK5 is a dual specificity protein kinase that belongs to the MAP kinase family which specifically interacts with and activates MAPK7/ERK5. MAP2K5 itself can be phosphorylated and activated by MAP3K3/MEKK3, as well as by atypical protein kinase C isoforms (aPKCs). The signal cascade mediated by MAP2K5 is involved in growth factor stimulated cell proliferation and muscle cell differentiation. The rs3743354 polymorphism in the MAP2K5 promoter may affect the risk of developing colorectal cancer (CRC).
