Western blot analysis of MRE11 in extracts of various cell lines. Samples were incubated with MRE11 Polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-89582) using a dilution of 1:1,000, followed by HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 25 µg per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST. Detection: ECL Basic Kit. Exposure time: 5s.

Target Information
MRE11 (double-strand break repair protein MRE11) is a component of the MRN complex. This complex plays a central role in double-strand break repair, DNA recombination, maintenance of telomere integrity and meiosis. The complex possesses single-stranded endonuclease activity and double-strand-specific 3'-5' exonuclease activity which are provided by MRE11. RAD50 is required to bind DNA ends and hold them in close proximity. Mutations in the gene could result in ataxia-telangiectasia-like disorder 1.
