MRPL20 Antibody in Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) (IHC (P)) — Immunohistochemistry analysis of MRPL20 in formalin-fixed paraffin embedded sections human large intestine tissue sections using MRPL20 Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-112313) at a dilution of 1:100.

MRPL20 Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — Western Blot analysis of MRPL20 using MRPL20 Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-112313) at a dilution of 1:500. Lane A: HeLa whole cell lysate, Lane B: U-251 MG whole cell lysate, (Lysates/proteins at 30 µg per lane). The secondary antibody used was a Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L)/HRP at 1:10,000 dilution. Developed using the ECL technique and performed under reducing conditions. Predicted band size: 17 kDa. Observed band size: 20 kDa.

MRPL20 Antibody in Immunoprecipitation (IP) — Immunoprecipitation of MRPL20 was performed on (Lane A) 0.5 mg HeLa whole cell lysate using 4 µL of MRPL20 Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-112313) at a dilution of 1:100, and 60 µg of Immunomagnetic beads Protein A/G. A Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L)/HRP was used as a secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:10,000. Developed using the ECL technique and performed under reducing conditions. Predicted band size: 17 kDa. Observed band size: 19 kDa.

Target Information

Mammalian mitochondrial ribosomal proteins are encoded by nuclear genes and help in protein synthesis within the mitochondrion. Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit. They have an estimated 75% protein to rRNA composition compared to prokaryotic ribosomes, where this ratio is reversed. Another difference between mammalian mitoribosomes and prokaryotic ribosomes is that the latter contain a 5S rRNA. Among different species, the proteins comprising the mitoribosome differ greatly in sequence, and sometimes in biochemical properties, which prevents easy recognition by sequence homology. This gene encodes a 39S subunit protein. A pseudogene corresponding to this gene is found on chromosome 21q. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].
