Western blot was performed using Myogenin Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-85111) and a 32 kDa band corresponding to Myogenin was observed along with uncharacterized bands (*) at ~38 kDa and ~150 kDa. Whole cell extracts (30 µg lysate) of RD (Lane 1) and HEK-293 (Lane 2) were electrophoresed using NuPAGE™ 10% Bis-Tris Protein Gel (Product # NP0302BOX), 12 well. Myogenin is a muscle-specific transcription factor that can induce myogenesis in a variety of cell types in tissue culture. It is a member of a large family of proteins related by sequence homology, the helix-loop-helix proteins. It is essential for the development of functional skeletal muscle.
