NGF/proNGF Neutralizing Antibody (ALM-006-250UG) in Neu

Neutralization of NGF-mediated PC12 proliferation - PC12 cells were grown in the absence of serum and in the presence ofNative mouse NGF 2.5S protein (99%) (#N-240), (50 ng/mL) as indicated. Varying concentrations of MouseNGF/proNGF Neutralizing Antibody (#ALM-006) were added to the culture and cell viability was established after 24 h using the XTT method. Note that 600 ng/mL Mouse NGF/proNGF Neutralizing ... View More {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. View more

          Product Specific Information

Reconstitution: 50 µL or 0.25 mL double distilled water (DDW), depending on the sample size. The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, it should be stored at -20C. The reconstituted solution can be stored at 4C for up to 1 week. For longer periods, small aliquots should be stored at -20C. Avoid multiple freezing and thawing. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10000 x g 5 min).

          Target Information

NGF (Nerve Growth Factor) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with NGF include Neuropathy, Hereditary Sensory And Autonomic, Type V and Autonomic Neuropathy. Among its related pathways are Apoptotic Pathways in Synovial Fibroblasts and p75 NTR receptor-mediated signalling. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include signaling receptor binding and obsolete signal transducer activity, downstream of receptor. An important paralog of this gene is NTF3. proNGF is abundant in central nervous system tissues whereas mature NGF is undetectable, suggesting that proNGF may have a function distinct from its role as a precursor. Studies suggest that proNGF has apoptotic activity which contrast with other data demonstrating that proNGF has neurotrophic activity.
