Store vial at -20° C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This affinity purified antibody is directed against human PACRG protein. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest reactivity with this protein from human, mouse and chicken based on 100% homology for the immunogen sequence. Cross reactivity with PACRG protein from zebrafish and rat may occur as this sequence only varies by one amino acid residue (94% homology). Expect reactivity with both splice variants of this protein. Cross reactivity with PACRG homologues from other sources has not been determined.
PACRG is a protein that is conserved across metazoans. In vertebrates, this gene is linked in a head-to-head arrangement with the adjacent parkin gene, which is associated with autosomal recessive juvenile Parkinson's disease. These genes are co-regulated in various tissues and they share a bi-directional promoter. Both genes are associated with susceptibility to leprosy. The parkin co-regulated gene protein forms a large molecular complex with chaperones, including heat shock proteins 70 and 90, and chaperonin components. This protein is also a component of Lewy bodies in Parkinson's disease patients, and it suppresses unfolded Pael receptor-induced neuronal cell death.
