Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
PRPF40B encodes an intracellular, predominantly nuclear protein that localizes to nucleoplasm/nuclear bodies (with additional cytosolic signal) and is structurally characterized by N-terminal WW protein-interaction module(s) together with multiple FF domains, consistent with an adaptor/scaffold architecture in RNA-processing pathways. Alternative splicing generates multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. Based on homology to the yeast U1 snRNP factor Prp40 and curated functional annotations, PRPF40B is implicated in pre-mRNA processing and mRNA splicing, likely contributing to early spliceosome/U1 snRNP-associated protein-protein interactions via its WW and FF domains. Reported interaction data indicate PRPF40B can bind Huntingtin and MeCP2, supporting a role as a multi-partner interaction hub that may link spliceosomal functions with other nuclear protein networks.
