Western blot analysis of STS in Lane 1: human HeLa whole cell lysate, Lane 2: human placenta tissue lysate, Lane 3: human MCF-7 whole cell lysate, Lane 4: human HepG2 whole cell lysate, Lane 5: human PANC-1 whole cell lysate using 50 µg (reducing conditions) per well. Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the conversion of sulfated steroid precursors to estrogens during pregnancy. The encoded protein is found in the endoplasmic reticulum, where it acts as a homodimer. Mutations in this gene are known to cause X-linked ichthyosis (XLI).
