This polyclonal antibody recognizes the inner membrane protein SbmA of Gram-negative bacteria.
SbmA is a gene that encodes a protein called inner membrane transporter SbmA, which is involved in the transport of various molecules across the inner membrane of bacterial cells. SbmA is particularly important for the uptake of peptide antibiotics, such as bacitracin and gramicidin, which are used in the treatment of bacterial infections. SbmA is also involved in the regulation of bacterial cell division and morphology. Understanding the function and regulation of SbmA is important for developing new antibiotics and for gaining insights into the mechanisms of bacterial resistance to antibiotics.
