Target Information
TRA2B (Transformer 2 Beta Homolog) is a serine/arginine-rich (SR-like) RNA-binding protein that functions as an important regulator of alternative pre-mRNA splicing. It binds to specific exonic splicing enhancer (ESE) sequences and promotes exon inclusion in a variety of target transcripts, thereby contributing to transcript diversity and post-transcriptional gene regulation. TRA2B plays roles in development, cell cycle regulation, and tissue-specific gene expression, and its dysregulation has been implicated in cancer and other diseases through altered splicing patterns. As part of the broader SR protein and splicing factor network, TRA2B interacts with additional components of the spliceosome to coordinate precise and context-dependent mRNA processing.
