Immunofluorescent analysis of TRAP1 showing staining in the mitochondria of HeLa cells. HeLa cells were fixed in 2% paraformaldehyde/culture medium at 37oC for 30 min and permeabilized with 100% MeOH for 30 sec and stained using a TRAP1 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-30358) diluted at 1:500. Blue: Hoechst 33342 staining. Scale bar = 10µm.

PA5-30358 targets TRAP1 in WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples.
The PA5-30358 immunogen is recombinant fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 22 and 236 of Human TRAP1.
HSP90 proteins are highly conserved molecular chaperones that have key roles in signal transduction, protein folding, protein degradation, and morphologic evolution. HSP90 proteins normally associate with other cochaperones and play important roles in folding newly synthesized proteins or stabilizing and refolding denatured proteins after stress. TRAP1 is a mitochondrial HSP90 protein. Other HSP90 proteins are found in cytosol (see HSP90AA1; MIM 140571) and endoplasmic reticulum (HSP90B1; MIM 191175) (Chen et al., 2005 [PubMed 16269234]).
