UBE1 Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — **Detection of human and mouse UBE1 by western blot (h&m) and immunoprecipitation (h).** *Samples:* Whole cell lysate from HeLa (5, 15 and 50 µg for WB; 1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded), 293T (T; 50 µg) and mouse NIH3T3 (M; 50 µg) cells. *Antibodies:* Affinity purified rabbit anti-UBE1 antibody A301-125A used for WB at 0.04 µg/ml (A) and 1 µg/ml (B) and used for IP at 3 µg/mg lysate. UBE1 was also immunoprecipitated efficiently by rabbit anti-UBE1 antibodies A301-126A and A301-127A, which recognize downstream epitopes. *Detection:* Chemiluminescence with exposure times of 30 seconds (A and B).

UBE1 Antibody in Immunoprecipitation (IP) — Detection of human UBE1 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-UBE1 antibody (Product # A301-125A; lot A301-125A-1) used for IP at 3 µg/mg lysate. UBE1 was also immunoprecipitated efficiently by rabbit anti-UBE1 antibodies (Product # A301-126A and A301-127A), which recognize downstream epitopes. For blotting immunoprecipitated UBE1, Product # A301-125A was used at 1.0 µg/mL. Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure time of 30 seconds.

Target Information

UBE1 catalyzes the first step in ubiquitin conjugation to mark cellular proteins for degradation. This gene complements an X-linked mouse temperature-sensitive defect in DNA synthesis, and thus may function in DNA repair. It is part of a gene cluster on chromosome Xp11. 23. Alternative splicing results in 2 transcript variants encoding the same protein, but with different 5' UTR.
