Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin embedded Human kidney; Antigen retrieval by boiling in sodium citrate buffer (pH6.0) for 15min; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% hydrogen peroxide for 20 minutes; Blocking buffer (normal goat serum) at 37°C for 30min; Antibody incubation with UBXD2 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-11675R) at 1:400 overnight at 4°C, DAB staining.

Target Information
MAFA is a transcription factor that binds RIPE3b, a conserved enhancer element that regulates pancreatic beta cell-specific expression of the insulin gene. MAFA cooperates synergistically with NEUROD1 and PDX1. Phosphorylation by GSK3 increases its transcriptional activity and is required for its ocogenic activity. Serves as an ocogene or tumor supressor depending on the cell context.
