UCP2 Antibody (PA5-103176) in ICC/IF
Immunofluorescent analysis of UCP2 in HeLa cells. Samples were fixed with paraformaldehyde, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100, blocked with 10% serum (45 min at 25°C), incubated with mouse anti-beta tubulin and UCP2 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-103176) using a dilution of 1:200 (1 hr, 37°C), and followed by goat anti-rabbit IgG Alexa Fluor 594 (red) and goat anti-mouse IgG Alexa Fluor 488 (green).

Antibody detects endogenous levels of total UCP2.
Target Information
UCPs facilitate the transfer of anions from the inner to the outer mitochondrial membrane and the return transfer of protons from the outer to the inner mitochondrial membrane. They also reduce the mitochondrial membrane potential in mammalian cells. UCP2 gene is expressed in many tissues, with the greatest expression in skeletal muscle. UCP2 is thought to play a role in non shivering thermogenesis, obesity and diabetes.
