PA1-23562 detects apha 2c Adrenergic Receptor in human samples.
PA1-23562 has been successfully used in Immunohistochemistry (paraffin) procedures.
The PA1-23562 immunogen is a synthetic peptide, KLH conjugated, corresponding to the N-terminal extracellular domain of human alpha-2c Adrenergic Receptor.
The Alpha 2c- Adrenergic Receptor controls the release of neurotransmitter from central adrenergic neurons and from sympathetic nerves in the heart. This receptor also plays a role in cognitive and behavioral function. Two variants are produced by alternative splicing. Alpha 2c-Adrenoceptor has been reported extensively in the brain. Blood, corpus cavermosum, kidney, and heart tissues have also been reported to express ADRA2C. ESTs have been isolated from heart and placenta, as well as mixed heart/melanocyte/uterus libraries.
