Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 200 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
EF1B2, also called elongation factor 1 beta 2, is a cytosolic subunit of the EF1B complex that serves as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor for EF1A, reloading EF1A with GTP to sustain delivery of aminoacyl tRNAs to ribosomes during translation elongation in plants. EF1B2 partners with EF1B gamma and EF1B delta to form a stable exchange complex, and its activity influences translational throughput, growth, and stress adaptation. Expression of EF1B2 is generally strong in actively dividing and expanding tissues and can shift with environmental stresses, hormone signals, and developmental transitions. Beyond translation, EF1B2 and its complex contribute to cytoskeletal dynamics and vesicle trafficking via EF1A interactions, linking protein synthesis capacity to broader cellular organization. When used as a reference gene, EF1B2 requires validation under specific experimental conditions because its expression can vary with treatments.
