Highly multiplexed PCR from any genomic reference sequence

Written by Behind The Bench Staff | Published: 01.12.2015

You may be familiar with the Ion AmpliSeq™ Panels for highly multiplexed, single-tube PCR for next-generation sequencing target selection for human or mouse genes. You also may be familiar with the online AmpliSeq.com tool for making custom designs, as well as accessing gene lists and target coordinates for the standard research panels that are offered.  gbs.PNG

But did you realize that there are now several additional reference genomes to design a custom research panel from? Reference genomes of important livestock and grain species, including cattle (cow), chicken, pig, sheep, dog, Chinese hamster, corn, rice, soybean and tomato, have been uploaded as ‘Extended Genomes’, preloaded into AmpliSeq.com.

Here’s a PDF brochure with additional details and specifications for the Ion AmpliSeq™ DNA Custom Panels. If you think you may need additional support (for example, with a low-quality, partially-complete reference from a non-model organism) a new premium service called Ion AmpliSeq™ Assist is now available.

Lastly if you are not familiar with what Ion AmpliSeq™ has to offer, here’s an introductory video of how Ion AmpliSeq™ panels work.

Is there additional capability in the AmpliSeq™ design that you would like to see? Feel free to add any requests to the comments below.
