NIMGenetics Takes New Ion S5 Through Paces

Dr. Sara Alvarez and her team were given the opportunity to get early access to the new Ion S5 System at NIMGenetics in Madrid, Spain.  Dr. Alvarez describes the experience using the new sequencer and the possibilities she sees with this new technology.  NIMGenetics has 2 focuses using NGS platforms: Exome Sequencing to unravel the mysteries on Mendelian Disorders and Cancer Research.  Dr. Alvarez has seen increased accuracy with the Ion S5 XL System than with previous methods and is excited by the ease-of-use, small amount of hands on time, and the possibility to increase the throughput.
