1. | Why are you changing your prices?Similar to most companies in the industry, we review our prices on an annual basis and adjust them accordingly to offset rising raw material, distribution and new product innovation costs. We continue to manage our day to day base costs in a vigilant way, but we recognise that our suppliers have increasing costs that they pass on to us in the form of price increases. As that happens, we have to look at our cost profile and act accordingly to allow us to maintain the supply and manufacture of quality products and services that our customers expect from a leading Life Sciences company. |
2. | What are the list price changes going to be?The change in price differs per product but it averages out at only 2.2% across the whole portfolio. |
3. | How is the % increase determined? In addition to those factors previously mentioned (i.e to offset rising raw material, distribution and new product innovation costs), we also consider product lifecycle and any macroeconomic factors. Depending upon the nature of the product, some prices will have increased whilst others have remained the same or even decreased. In fact, for a significant part of our products we managed to hold pricing levels at 2014 prices or decrease the list price to help you stretch your budget further. |
4. | When will list prices be available? If you would like any information on 2015 list prices, please contact your Account Manager. All list prices can be viewed online at www.lifetechnologies.com from 1st January 2015. |
5. | When can I see my new agreement?Your Account Manager should be in contact with your account before the end of the year to provide your new agreement for 2015. Please update your systems accordingly to ensure your 2015 orders are processed without delay. |
6. | What is your 2015 freight policy?Similar to most companies in the industry, we review our freight policy on an annual basis and adjust it accordingly to offset rising distribution costs. We continue to work hard to contain these costs but believe this freight policy review is essential to retain the levels of service our customers expect. For 2015 we have managed to maintain our freight policy at the same rates as 2014 in order to help your budgets stretch even further. |
7. | Where can I find your standard freight policy? All revised country standard freight terms for 2015 can be viewed online from 1st January 2015 at www.lifetechnologies.com. |
8. | When will the new prices/freight policy come into effect?1st of January 2015. |
9. | How will these price changes affect me? What about my existing agreement? The prices you pay may change depending upon the terms of your quote and when it comes up for renewal. The new list prices may impact your pricing if you currently get a discount from standard list price. Your Account Manager should be in contact with your account soon to discuss renewal of your existing agreement if it is due to expire. |
10. | Can I get a copy of my country price list?We do not publish country price lists however our pricing is available on our website or through your Account Manager. |
11. | Do price increases only apply to certain customers? Our list prices change across the board. For details on how these changes will impact you specifically, please contact your Account Manager. |
12. | When should I upload pricing? Please work with your Account Manager to ensure that you load your new pricing before the end of the year. This will help alleviate any order processing delays once the new pricing goes live on 1st January 2015. |
13. | I'm a B2B customer—is the process different for me?The only additional steps in the B2B process involve loading and approving your 2015 e-catalogue via the 3rd party provider. Your Account Manager will be in contact in due course to finalise your new pricing and allow sufficient time for your system to be updated. |
14. | How and when will we be contacted/informed about this change? This year, we have communicated our list price change notification earlier than in previous years. You will receive further communications in November, December and January. Your Account Manager may also be in contact to discuss any changes that will affect your account in 2015. |
