900-K299K consists of: 900-K299 (capture antibody, detection antibody, and protein standard), and AVIDIN-60UL (avidin HRP-conjugate).
Human Follistatin ABTS ELISA Development Kit contains the key components required for the quantitative measurement of natural and/or recombinant human Follistatin in a sandwich ELISA format. Human Follistatin ABTS ELISA Development Kit contains enough material to assay the target cytokine in at least 1,000 ELISA plate wells.
The ABTS ELISA Buffer Kit (Product # 900-K00), sold separately, is recommended to be used in conjunction with this ABTS ELISA Development Kit for optimal performance. This buffer kit contains all the necessary components to assay ten 96-well ELISA plates (included) and contains detailed handling instructions.
Target information
Follistatin is a single-chain gonadal protein that specifically inhibits follicle-stimulating hormone release. The single FST gene encodes two isoforms, FST317 and FST344 containing 317 and 344 amino acids respectively, resulting from alternative splicing of the precursor mRNA. In a study in which 37 candidate genes were tested for linkage and association with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or hyperandrogenemia in 150 families, evidence was found for linkage between PCOS and follistatin.
