Representative data for STAT5 alpha/beta Human InstantOne™ ELISA. Induction of STAT5 A/B (pY694/699) phosphorylation in A431 cells in response to EGF treatment. A431 cells were cultured in 96-well tissue culture plates and treated (15 min) with a dose-range of EGF before cell lysis. Lysates were analysed by InstantOne™ ELISA. Data from quadruplicate measurements of STAT5 A/B (pY694/699) are plotted and compared against Total STAT5 A/B levels.

About This Kit
The InstantOne™ ELISA is specifically engineered for accurate measurement of total human STAT5A/B in cell lysates. Detection of mouse and rat STAT5A/B is expected. The InstantOne™ ELISA kit allows for fast analysis of samples in approximately one hour. All reagents used in a traditional sandwich ELISA are added in solution to a plate followed by a wash step and detection with the TMB colorimetric substrate.
Target information
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by the receptor-associated kinases, and then form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the cell nucleus where they act as transcription activators. This protein is activated by, and mediates the responses of, many cell ligands, such as IL-2, IL-3, IL-7, GM-CSF, erythropoietin, thrombopoietin, and different growth hormones. Activation of this protein in myeloma and lymphoma associated with a TEL/JAK2 gene fusion is independent of cell stimulus and has been shown to be essential for the tumorigenesis. The mouse counterpart of this gene is found to induce the expression of BCL2L1/ BCL-X(L), which suggests the antiapoptotic function of this gene in cells.
