About This Kit
Human TPO ELISA development kit contains the key components required for the quantitative measurement of natural and/or recombinant human TPO in a sandwich ELISA format. Using the ELISA protocol, the recommended microplates, reagents and solutions, the components supplied in this kit are sufficient to assay human TPO in approximately 200 ELISA plate wells.
This PeproTech ABTS ELISA Development Kit contains the key components required for the quantitative measurement of natural and/or recombinant proteins in a sandwich ELISA format. This ABTS ELISA Development Kit contains enough material to assay the target cytokine in at least 200 ELISA plate wells. The ABTS ELISA Buffer Kit (Product # 900-K00), sold separately, is recommended to be used in conjunction with this ABTS ELISA Development Kit for optimal performance. This buffer kit contains all the necessary components to assay ten 96-well ELISA plates (included) and contains detailed handling instructions.
Target information
Thrombopoietin (TPO, THPO, MPL ligand, megakaryocyte colony-stimulating factor) is responsible for the generation of platelets through its action on hematopoietic cells committed to the megakaryocyte lineage. Binding of thrombopoietin to its receptor, MPL (CD110), initiates a signaling cascade via JAK/STAT, MAPK, and PI3K/AKT signaling pathways that leads to the proliferation and differentiation of megakaryocytes and, ultimately, to the production of platelets (thrombopoiesis). Thrombopoietin is constitutively produced by the liver and has a predicted molecular weight of 38 kDa.
