Alice Scarpellini is an applications development scientist specializing in SEM for materials science, with a strong focus on connecting technical innovation to customer value. With an engineering background and over a decade of experience, she combines deep technical expertise with a marketing mindset to translate complex data into clear and compelling product stories. Her recent work focuses on SEM, EDS, and EBSD applications in industrial markets, supporting the floor-model SEM portfolio.
Rengarajan Pelapur received his PhD in computer science focused on computer vision, image processing, and machine learning from the University of Missouri. His research interests include feature detection, object tracking, and segmentation in large 2D/3D data across various domains such as life sciences, material sciences, and semiconductor studies. Rengarajan uses his programming, machine learning, and image processing expertise to assist customers in solving large data processing and visualization problems.
Dr. Alex Hall is an expert in visualization and analysis for 3D microscopy techniques. A background in biology and evolution research introduced him to 3D segmentation methods for X-ray CT. This led to his current focus on clean energy, composites, polymers, ceramics, and metals projects. He brings broad expertise to difficult projects that require image segmentation and multimodal analysis.
Patrick Barthelemy is a senior product application expert for materials R&D and industrial inspection at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Since 1987, Patrick has worked in and researched 3D visualization and advanced analysis in the medical, material sciences, and industrial inspection fields.
Luigi is a process engineer working in materials science and characterization. With a background in spectroscopy and electron microscopy, he helps customers find the right tools to convert datasets into actionable data, track improvements, and identify imperfections in manufacturing or research processes.
